We started Town Square with a mission to bring positive, local news to Central Massachusetts.  We wanted to celebrate the good things in our community and provide a forum to share news that often doesn’t make it into mainstream media outlets.

Thanks to you and our team of amazing reporters, we succeeded.

While we weren’t sure at first if the concept would work, we soon learned that there was an unending stream of amazing people and powerful stories in Central Mass for our reporters to write about daily.  Our great team of correspondents filled a news void by delivering top-notch reporting on local sports, business, community leaders and so many other important local stories.

Despite our best efforts, unfortunately we have not been able to develop a sustainable business model to support this great work, and we are forced to shut down the site.  We will be forever thankful to those in the community who supported us through their monthly subscriptions to Central Mass Town Square, and to those sponsors – particularly the Worcester Chamber of Commerce and UniCare – who advertised on our site.

While we will be shutting down our operation, we remain committed to the Town Square mission and to the Central Massachusetts community.  We will continue to look for new ways to tell these important stories and to support the great work happening all around us.
