AUBURN – The high school boys’ hockey season began with exciting hockey during the Dana Willard Tournament held at the Horgan Skating Arena in Auburn this month. In the first game of the semifinals, Nashoba beat Auburn, 4-2, with the help of two goals and an assist from Billy Johns. In the second game, Worcester beat Long Meadow with Aiden LePoer scoring two goals for the Wildcats.

In the consolation finals, Auburn senior Joe Vallone scored a hat-trick to pace the Rockets past Long Meadow, 7-1. Nashoba’s Kameron Pierce also scored a hat-trick as the Wolves beat Worcester, 6-3, to win the tournament.
