WORCESTER  — Local musician Cara Brindisi was the big winner of Pulse Magazine’s 2020 Worcester Music Awards.

Brindisi took home four awards this year in the following categories: best female vocalist, best solo act, sexiest musician, and best new music video for her recent release “Sunflowers in September.”

The award ceremony took place at El Basha Grille & Bar on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.

Other big winners included the alternative pop rock band, “My Silent Bravery,” and the groove rock band, “Blue Light Bandits.” Each band brought home two awards.

My Silent Bravery won best CD artist and cover art for their album “Holding Out for Hope,” and the Blue Light Bandits won best live act and pop act. According to Pulse’s Publisher Paul Giorgio, this ceremony is the most recent to take place since COVID and it’s the 15th overall.

“We are celebrating those musicians who stuck it out and performed both pre and post covid in Central Massachusetts,” said Giorgio. “Many of these musicians literally lost their livelihoods during the pandemic and we came together to celebrate the winners, but also the return of live music in Central Massachusetts.”
