WORCESTER, Mass. — Cornerstone Bank has donated $25,000 to the YMCA of Central Massachusetts to help support the organization’s youth development and LIVESTRONG programs.
Cornerstone Bank is a community bank with 12 locations throughout Central Massachusetts, and the LIVESTRONG program is a fitness program for cancer survivors at the YMCA.
“The core values of the YMCA align with those of our own organization,” said Cornerstone Bank CEO Todd Tallman. “Their commitment to the community, especially children and teenagers, is inspiring. We hope this donation will allow them to continue their youth programs as well as the LIVESTRONG program, providing wellness support for so many who are recovering from serious illnesses.”
LIVESTRONG is a 12-week, small-group fitness program designed to help adult cancer survivors convalesce following treatment. The YMCA of Central Massachusetts has six branches that serve 35,000 members across 70 cities and towns with youth and childcare programs, summer camps and fitness centers for people of all ages.
“Our goal with this donation is to be a part of their [the YMCA’s] success as they make lives better in our own backyard,” Tallman explained.
